« "Meribel" has well and truly become a fixture in the calendar of meetings about creation. Not only for the invitation to the heart of the Alps for the first snow, but also because it’s the only place which looks at European creation from all its aspects. Is creation different here, in this old continent propelled into modernity? Is there a style, languages, or a creative culture that is rooted in Europe’s rich soil? At a time when you can’t be global any more if you don’t have a local flavor, let’s breathe in what Europe offers, in its languages, especially French which is so poorly represented in international festivals. Méribel invites us to think about these questions, and in particular this year, to ask whether creative Europe is still fertile for invention and innovative ideas, which would be the best sign of its vitality. »
